About
I listen without judgment, carefully asking questions to help you improve your relationships, most importantly your relationship to yourself, one that is too commonly overlooked. My passion is to help families, couples, and individuals in the midst of crisis and transition progress. My clients' comfort, self-discovery, and growth are my greatest priorities. It is my deepest conviction that every person stands to benefit from therapy. That said, I work to keep clients focused on treatment goals to ensure that they are benefiting. I act as a catalyst, helping you to help yourself, develop self-compassion, peace and relational harmony.
I'm especially adept at handling cultural issues with sensitivity and competence, having worked with the underserved, edited a cross-cultural psychology textbook, and written a memoir of my own struggle to integrate my conflicting cultures. With my legal background in family law, I'm skilled at helping you problem-solve, weigh decisions, and achieve balance.
Although I approach treatment from an artistic and spiritual standpoint, my foundational training is in a more scientific, result-focused cognitive behavioral therapy. In treatment, we will work together to collaboratively construct a narrative of your life that richly taps into your creative possibilities, while developing essential, practical life skills.
