About
I work with adults and adolescents who are experiencing challenging life circumstances and adjustments, struggle with important relationships, self-esteem, live with mood disorders/anxiety, feel stuck, and individuals wanting to live a more satisfying and engaged life. My work is to participate in creating a safe space and to use my skills to promote awareness and support positive change. This may require looking at both past and present-day issues. Developing a good working relationship (being a good "fit") with my clients is essential.
I specialize in addressing anxiety, depression, trauma, multicultural issues and working with the LGBT community as an affirming therapist. My style is collaborative, active (listening and speaking), and helpful in a "practical" way. I previously worked at Georgetown University, after having practiced at the University of Michigan.
I offer a free 10-15 minute phone consultation for information about my work and approach and to get a sense of your needs. I can provide services in English and Spanish. Therapy can be short or long-term and I am licensed to practice teletherapy in all PSYPACT participating states. Visit www.PsychotherapyInDC.com
