Hi! I'm a psychologist who has lived in the Washington DC area for nearly thirty years. I know that life in this region can be stressful, with traffic, high-pressure jobs, and interpersonal demands. I help people find ways to cope with these pressures and life's many challenges, including relationship concerns, self-esteem issues, self-defeating behaviors, emotional reactivity, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, and life transitions. I believe that a therapeutic relationship offering confidentiality, safety, curiosity, and a little humor, provides the most fertile soil for self exploration, healing, and growth.
I am attuned to the ways early life experiences may continue to impact one’s feelings toward self and one’s reactions to others in the present. I am especially equipped to help with attachment issues, longstanding personality features, difficult relationship patterns, and dissatisfaction with life or work.
I am committed to deepening my knowledge and skills as a therapist. To that end, I’ve completed several intensive, postgraduate training programs. I have particular expertise in the treatment of trauma and dissociative disorders, chronic somatic pain (TMS), and perinatal mood/anxiety disorders.
