Hi! I'm a psychologist who has lived in the Washington DC area for nearly thirty years. I know that life in this region can be stressful, with traffic, high-pressure jobs, and interpersonal demands. I help people find ways to cope with these pressures and life's many challenges, including relationship concerns, self-esteem issues, self-defeating behaviors, emotional reactivity, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, and life transitions. I believe that a therapeutic relationship offering confidentiality, safety, respect, curiosity, and a little humor, provides the most fertile soil for self exploration, healing, and growth.
I am attuned to the ways early life experiences may continue to impact one’s feelings toward self and one’s reactions to others in the present. I have expertise in the treatment of trauma and dissociative disorders, as well as particular interest in the treatment of perinatal mood/anxiety disorders and psychophysiologic disorders causing chronic pain.
I am continually developing my skills and knowledge as a psychotherapist and have participated in a variety of advanced training programs. My experience and training make me uniquely qualified to help with longstanding personality traits, dissatisfaction with life or work, difficult relationship patterns, and the lingering effects of past experiences.
