My approach balances compassion with being direct. My clients experience care, acceptance and belonging, while also feeling challenged the right amount to grow, change and decrease suffering. I offer empathy while actively engaging my clients by setting weekly treatment goals, building coping tools/resources, and providing skills/knowledge to build self-awareness and integration. For over 25 years I have guided clients to access their internal strengths and resources in a variety of settings including- nonprofit; residential; community mental health; alcohol/substance abuse treatment; as an instructor in the Clinical and School Psychology Master’s program at San Francisco State University, and currently in my Private Practice.
