Welcome to Aria Counseling, Assessment & Mediation Centers! We have a number of therapists on staff who are experienced, licensed and able to help. With locations in Fridley and Minneapolis, we are able to accommodate your need to begin working on your area(s) of concern quickly. Beginning October 24th, Summer Counseling is moving to Oakdale and adding new afternoon and evening hours! Starting therapy can be scary or intimidating for anyone. At Summer Counseling we offer therapy for ages 4+ with therapists with a wide range of specialties-including EMDR, DBT, Play Therapy, LGBTQIA+ specialists and more. The amazing thing about therapy is that there are so many ways to achieve your goals. We have openings for children and adults for in-person or telehealth appointments and we're happy to introduce you to one of our excellent therapists to help with your mental health needs.

I have been working as a therapist with children, teens, adults, couples and families since I received a Masters of Clinical Social Work from University of Saint Thomas/Saint Catherine University in 2017. I enjoy working with individuals ages 12 through adult. I believe in the importance of the therapeutic relationship with my clients, as well as their life experiences, to meet clients where they are at and encourage growth and movement through their journey.

I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor and Board-Certified Art Therapist. I work with clients of all ages. In my therapeutic work, I utilize a combination of art therapy, directive and non-directive play therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, and person-centered approaches to address client struggles with emotions, attachment, trauma, and behavior. I interact with clients using humor and transparency. I identify as a member of the LGBTQIA+ community and value accepting all clients as they are. I am honored to join clients on their journey of healing and growth.

Where do you you heal? Is it always talk? I have worked with children/families/ individuals most of my career and have had to think of different ways to process feelings. For young children it's play, for older children doing art or games. For adults it may be changing one’s perspective. Brain science confirms that these methods are effective for emotional regulation. The most successful factor in therapy is the therapeutic relationship. I honor that. I partner with you on this journey. Some clients bring two session issues,others bring trauma that may need neuropsychological approaches.

Work with adolescents and their families is where my passion lies. I understand and believe that the system a person is operating in can impact all parts of one's life experience. I believe it is important in therapy to meet you where you are at and explore where you want to go. Creating a path to becoming your most authentic self is one of the most rewarding and challenging acts you can do. I am honored to be a part of your process.

I provide integral treatment to support you. We collaborate on methods to work towards goals, wellness and thriving in a healthy lifestyle. In EMDR therapy you will be guided through an 8 phase treatment with BLS (i.e. eye movement or tappers). After determining which memory to target, you will hold different aspects of that event, internal associations arise and you can process the memory & disturbing feelings. The meaning of the painful event is transformed on an emotional level. In marriage therapy (EFCT), our goals are to understand love systemically, emotions & attachment needs, control negative patterns & shape positive bonds.

I work with people from the ages of 12 to 100! I specialize in trauma and use a solution focused approach. I am trained in EMDR and love seeing the small successes clients achieve. I also offer clinical supervision.
