I am a board-certified therapist with a Master's Degree in Social Work from the University of Michigan - Ann Arbor. I was clinically trained as a social worker by the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Michigan Health System Depression Center, where I also conducted research on a variety of mental health issues.

Our main office is conveniently located at the northwest corner of Orchard Lake Rd and 11 Mile in Farmington Hills, with satellite offices in South Lyon, Fenton, Plymouth & Ann Arbor. Being a fully licensed psychologist and Registered Play Therapist Supervisor (RPT/S), I also offer supervision and training for clinicians. My associates add even wider range of clinical experience to the practice, including attachment issues, behavior problems, mood disorders, testing/assessments, and concerns of the LBGTQ community. We offer HIPPA compliant TeleHealth therapy services, as well as in-person sessions.

I am a Certified Forensic Consultant and a Fully Licensed Counselor. I provide supervision for LLPCs. My therapeutic approach is holistic, to not just focus on the presenting concern(s). I offer cranial electrotherapy stimulation, Neurofeedback, and EMDR administered with state of the art technology, as treatment options. Comprehensive psychological testing/evaluations and medication evaluation/management is also available.

Nicole uses an integrative approach to therapy, blending styles in a way that accommodates the unique needs of each individual. She is a certified Child and Adolescent Anxiety Treatment Professional and also certified in Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and enjoys encorporating its modalities into therapy when appropriate (mindfulness, emotional regulation, distress tolerance and interpersonal effectiveness). Nicole has a deep understanding of school issues, special education, behavior analysis and interventions, self-concept, parent-coaching, girl-issues, ADHD, ASD and improving overall social, emotional and behavioral functioning.

People come to me because they feel trapped, depressed, anxious or angry, or stuck in a rut. There is a huge gap between expectations and reality together with a breakdown in their mind, body, emotions, and spirit. They feel unregulated, unbalanced, unable to sleep, exhausted, in pain, in fight or flight mode most of the time and sometimes, have suicidal tendencies. They are crying or screaming in one way or the other. They want relief, things to go back to where they were, change, peace of mind and time to heal. Most importantly, they want love and compassion.

I am a trauma and attachment trained therapist. My focus is families dealing with early childhood attachment and trauma due to foster care, international adoptions, or other significant traumatic childhood experiences. I also see adults that have suffered trauma and attachment during childhood.

I am a licensed psychologist and the clinical director of Sollars and Associates Integrative Counseling and Psychological Services. I have been providing counseling and psychotherapy for over 30 years in the Metro Detroit area and our group practice spans across the state of Michigan. With support, encouragement and expert insight many people begin to feel better after their first session.

Damen enjoys working with children, adolescents, teenagers, families and adults and has practiced in case management, hospital, school and outpatient therapy settings. As a clinician, Damen is devoted to learning about her clients and helping them work towards their individual goals using professional knowledge and creativity. She is a team player and has extensive experience working with schools and advocating for IEP, 504 plans and specific resources needed to help her clients be successful in the school setting.
