About
I believe that what clients want is to be heard, and understood. My experience has taught me that I interact well with clients, easily engage them in trusting therapeutic relationships, and allow them to feel comfortable with the use of my sense of humor. I try to see the world as the client sees it. Therapy is a collaborative effort, and I work with my clients to help them remove obstacles to growth in their lives. If you suffer from low self esteem, social anxiety, have relationship issues, or any other problem that is causing you distress, I can help you to find a solution. Helping people is what I love doing as a therapist.
I have twenty-seven years of experience working with disorders such as anxiety, depression, and substance abuse. Working with people has given me the wisdom and insight into the most effective treatment approaches for clients, each one of whom is unique. I create a new therapy for each client that is spontaneous, and constantly changing.
My journey through life has included family of origin issues such as mental illness, alcoholism, and an otherwise very dysfunctional family. I have been able to overcome the negative effects of these experiences, and as a result, I have developed a high level of empathy for anyone who has had similar experiences, and look forward to working with them.
