I am a licensed, clinical psychologist with over thirty-five years of experience. I was in private practice in Beverly Hills, CA for over twenty-five years. I am licensed to practice in South Carolina, where I currently reside. My orientation is primarily existential-analytic and informed by contemporary psychodynamic theory. I combine this depth approach to psychotherapy with a strong background and belief in cognitive-behavioral interventions. I am dedicated to providing the highest quality of professional care, with compassion, acceptance and sensitivity. I tailor my treatment approach to the needs of the individual.
I recognize that each client is an individual with a unique pattern of perceiving and relating to the world. Sometimes this pattern developed over the course of one's life becomes dysfunctional. The goal of psychotherapy is to develop more effective ways of perceiving and interacting with the world.
Primarily, I treat problems related to anxiety, depression, relationships and substance abuse. Additional professional work includes life transitions (e.g., college, career, marriage, parenthood and grief). I work with adults, couples and families. I have taught courses in psychopathology, adjustment to adult life and sports psychology at USC Upstate.
