Samina N. Long
Licensed Professional Counselor, PhD
Stigmas frighten us and sometimes keeps us from moving forward and receiving the help that we need. Understanding who you are and your mental health can help you feel centered and connected to your inner you. Learning how to identify symptoms, warning signs, and triggers to daily problematic concerns can create understanding and empathy towards yourself and others; and lead you to feel comfortable functioning in your everyday life.
At the Listening Retreat, individuals, couples, and families receive professional counseling to assist resolving personal, behavioral, social, and psychological concerns. Individuals are taught coping skills for managing difficult experiences; on how to make better life decisions; to view life as positive and safe; and to gain feelings of a hopeful future.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with a PhD in Clinical Psychology. I have 12 years experience working in the behavioral & mental health field; and have provided counseling in many settings, including inpatient hospitalization, outpatient treatment, and private practice. I promote personal growth, self-domination, positive character and healthy living.
