Overall, I consider therapy to be a beginning point for personal change. My counseling philosophy is built around the principle that understanding a patient in the context of the surroundings that influenced their development is elemental to the therapeutic process. My primary goal is to facilitate the development of alternative ways of thought and behavior to reduce distress and help patients view themselves as active agents of change. Generally, I utilize an integrative approach, combining Rational-Emotive Behavioral and Psychoanalytic techniques.
I specialize in severe and persistent mental illness, with a primary focus on mood disorders. I have experience working with patients whose concerns include, but are not limited to, impulse control, neurodevelopmental, substance-related, paraphilic, and personality disorders. Concerns I commonly treat include PTSD, anxiety, depression, and bipolar disorders.
All intakes are conducted in the office, at which time we will discuss if you are a good candidate for Telehealth. I do not typically see patients with severe and persistent mental illnesses (major depressive disorders, bipolar disorders, personality disorders, or schizophrenia) virtually. To schedule an initial appointment please contact me via email.
