Hi! My name is Samantha Lovell, LPC. My approach to therapy is grounded in empathy, respect, equality, and the therapeutic relationship. I enjoy helping others navigate the complexities of childhood experiences, complex trauma, codependency, anxiety, and much more. Therapy belongs to the client, so I use a number of approaches tailored to each individual’s needs. I typically utilize CBT, ACT, and trauma-focused somatic techniques with an underlying foundation of person-centered care.
My goal is always to leave clients feeling seen and heard. I use humor as a means to normalize experiences and soothe tension, when appropriate. And I enjoy confronting issues head-on by asking hard questions, exploring deep-rooted beliefs/feelings, and encouraging the development of real-world skills.
Setting goals should come from meeting the client where they are and identifying what is needed in order to move to where they want to be. Clients are the experts on themselves, and I offer evidence-based methods with insights into emotional and psychological patterns to support one’s overall well-being.
