Samantha Bray, LCSW, Clinical Social Work/Therapist in Austin
Are you struggling with obsessive, intrusive, or disturbing thoughts that seem stuck or looping in your head? Do you find yourself compulsively arguing with "yourself" or doing repetitive behaviors in an urgent effort to bring down your anxiety? Are you beating yourself up for thinking these kinds of thoughts? Often intrusive thoughts can be very scary, violent, and go against the very things you value and hold dear. Sometimes it's very challenging to even say theses thoughts out loud! I offer you a safe, confidential, and non-judgemental space to share what is burdening you. I'll teach you to conquer the OCD bully.
Stop feeding OCD, STARVE IT. In therapy, you can learn skills to gather the courage and grit to face your fears and tame the anxiety. You CAN live the life you value and desire! Exposure Response Prevention (ERP) is the evidenced based GOLD STANDARD therapy for the treatment of OCD. I also provide INTENSIVE therapy.
I believe in using evidence-based practices in conjunction with my natural insight and intuition. I enjoy working with mothers with a fear of harming their children..as well as working with professionals(MD's, Nurses, Lawyers, etc) and undergrad/grad students.
