I have openings for virtual couples/relationship work. I specialize in working with non-traditional couples and relationships (queer, poly/open/CNM, kinky, etc.), though I work extensively with all types of relationships. I primarily utilize concepts from Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and The Gottman Method. EFT is a collaborative approach based on attachment science that allows you to attune to emotions, recognize patterns, and reorganize your patterned responses to be ones of mutual connection and benefit. I integrate the Gottman Method to improve the foundation of your relationship and develop skills in communication.
Many couples modalities, however, have been developed from a traditional relationship lens. I pull from feminist and queer theories to inform a more expansive view of intimate relationship. My own positioning as a white, queer, trans person informs this viewpoint, and I work with many couples on shifting gendered and other cultural patterns in relationship.
Our work will involve an exploration of your life and childhood and how those experiences inform how you show up together in your version of partnership. I collaborate with you, empathically, while also directly teaching you new skills in communication and intimacy.
