I’m Sam Nelson, a Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern with over 3 years of experience in the mental health field. I’ve had the privilege of working with children, teens, and adults facing a range of clinical concerns, including anxiety, depression, ADHD, OCD, borderline personality disorder, behavioral addictions, and trauma.
I earned my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of North Florida. In my work, I draw from evidence-based therapy modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), exposure and response prevention (ERP), motivational interviewing, play therapy, EMDR, and expressive arts techniques.
I believe the first step to feeling better is learning to accept ourselves as we are in this moment. From there, we can identify areas for growth and work toward making positive changes.
