The COVID-19 pandemic has brought social isolation, fear about our health and financial worry. Although you may be trying to cope with COVID-19, you may feel anxious, sad, angry or irritable, have difficulty sleeping, trouble concentrating, changes in appetite, or struggle to engage in daily routines. If these symptoms continue for 2 weeks, it is time to seek help. Hoping symptoms of depression and anxiety will just go away without treatment can result in worsening of symptoms. I am experienced in working with adults with growing up issues, adjustments, current and past trauma, loss, life transitions and chronic illness.
We are often controlled by beliefs and feelings that we are not aware of which affect our experience, our relationships and our work. In order to change we need to become aware of our thoughts, feelings and behavior and may need to develop insight as to where and why they originated and how they affect us.
A therapeutic relationship with someone you trust is necessary to work on vulnerable feelings. I provide in-depth listening, non-judgmental understanding, genuine caring and a collaborative approach. I create a safe space for self reflection to develop an authentic understanding of yourself, resolve issues and develop new thoughts, attitudes and skills.
