Throughout my service in various clinical settings, I have been struck by the importance of creating a safe space for those seeking mental health care and working towards personal growth. While I treat a wide range of mental health concerns, I specialize in working with those who: are navigating life transitions, including relationship and dating challenges, grief and loss, medical difficulties, or relocation; are striving to find effective ways of managing difficult emotions and communicating with others; have faced interpersonal traumas or identity-based invalidations; or are struggling to engage in meaningful ways with others.
I have worked in a number of settings, including victim services centers, university mental health clinics, and in the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. These experiences have afforded me the privilege of engaging with clients from diverse cultural, generational, religious, and socioeconomic backgrounds, as well as gender identities & sexual orientations.
I strive to provide a warm and empathic environment, one that combines a client-centered, strengths-based approach with treatment validated by research. I work through an empowerment-based, trauma-focused, and relational framework; consider how intersecting identities contribute to unique life experiences; and collaborate alongside my clients in the room.
