About
Couples: I am one of the few certified Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)in Rhode Island. EFT is a validated and proven model of couples therapy (can be used for individuals or families). If you and your partner are disconnected or cannot find a way to get along, EFT can help. EFT is validate by research, is capable of helping solve marital issues where other forms of therapy have failed. Many of my clients came to me at the end of their hope for the relationship working and therapy being effective. I bring my expertise and fit it to you and your partner's needs.
EFT as a model directly deals with the negative cycle/pattern or "dance" that couples become stuck in. Only when a couple can identify this stuck place can they begin the transformation to s a different and more connected/fulfilling relationship. (icceft.com) Relationships and what makes them strong is no longer a mystery and we can work to build your bond.
With individual clients I use a integrative tailored approach, but I use two forms of therapy, EFT (as described above) and Internal family systems. It is a helpful way to organize and regain control over what is happening in your emotional, cognitive and behavioral worlds.
