Hi! I’m Sage, and, yes, it’s my real name. I swear I didn’t change it when I became a therapist. I was hesitant to try therapy for many years until circumstances in my life pushed me to talk about what I was going through. That experience taught me the value of vulnerability, and set me on the path to this career. I know what it's like to be a client: nervous, feeling a mess, and desperately hoping someone can help me fix it. I hate to burst your bubble, but therapy isn’t magic. Believe me, I would love to have a wand I could wave to make your problems go away. So, while we wait for someone to invent that technology,
let’s talk about what therapy is actually like. A lot of the work is centered on the process of accepting life on life’s terms while making change, and that is hard! But you know what? Even though what we talk about can be painful and difficult, we also make each other laugh, and we smile when something meaningful is shared. My relationships with
my clients are exactly that: relationships. I'm a real person, and I don't pretend to be a robot or a blank slate as a therapist. If you fail, I’ll support you. If you're hurt, I’ll help you heal. If you succeed, I will celebrate with you. I will also call you on your sh+t if that’s what you need. It's a joy, a challenge, and a privilege to be a therapist.
