Starting therapy is a life changing experience that requires a safe, non-judgmental, and empathetic approach to begin the healing process. I've worked with many adolescents and adults to address various mental health and substance use issues. I view "issues" and "problems" as external from the individual and the problem at hand is comprised of many different factors that require different types of interventions. Therefore, my approach is to motivate my clients to start addressing each factor based on their own needs and goals.
My primary focus is to meet clients where they are at and empower them to identify their path for healing. I aid in helping my clients to increase insight and awareness of their issues while also providing different perspectives as well as coping skills to manage symptoms.
Holding Space is a phrase is used to describe being in the present moment with a person - to be fully seen and heard. Therefore, holding and creating a safe space, to me, is an extremely important aspect of the therapeutic process and a personal value of mine. If you are interested in working with me - feel free to contact me. Thank you for your time!
