I have experience working with adults/teens experiencing anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, phase of life issues, grief, trauma, and addiction. I enjoy incorporating techniques from Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy. I also enjoy incorporating crafts and artistic activities into my work with teens, especially with those having a harder time opening up and expressing themselves in words. I put a lot of emphasis on building the client-therapist relationship and hope my calm and soothing energy will make many people feel safe and accepted.
Although I enjoy working with a diverse group of people, I have a special place in my heart for veterans, service members, and their families due to the 10 years I spent enlisted in the military. I have experience working with combat related trauma and have seen good results with cognitive processing therapy.
I know that seeking out therapy can feel overwhelming. It can seem like one more daunting task when there are already so many things on your plate, and I realize trusting a stranger can be very difficult, especially if you've been let down in the past.
