Therapy is strange. That might sound like an odd thing to start with, but I wanted to be honest. Even I can admit that the entire idea of talking to a total stranger about one’s struggles seems strange sometimes. But at the same time, that’s often what people have done throughout history; going to their loved ones for support, talking to their Barber or Bartender, or even talking to a member of their Religious institution. There is just something inherently helpful when you sit down and talk to someone about what is going on in your life. What I try to do is provide a safe space for people to do just that.
How I differ from others is my eclectic use of therapy techniques. Some therapists use only CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy). I studied a variety of evidenced-based approaches, so in addition to CBT, I also use DBT, Adlerian, Gestalt & Existential Psychology. My goal is to treat everyone as an individual & find the best technique that would work for them.
I believe the ultimate goal of therapy is for you to live your best life, on your own terms & being true to who you are, regardless of what you have been through, what you are going through or what you may face in the future.
