Psychotherapy is a way to learn more about ourselves, find options for change, and develop skills for managing difficult situations and emotions. While the "story" of pain is important, I offer clients the opportunity to better understand the roots of distress, ways in which bodies hold emotional pain, and clear options for enhancing natural resilience. For over a decade, I have helped clients manage anxiety and depression and recover from addiction and trauma. I work with LGBT clients around trauma and discrimination. With training in EMDR, Gestalt Therapy, and CBT, I offer a variety of therapies based on individual need.
I specialize in working with clients experiencing impacts from childhood and adult trauma. Somatic-focused EMDR and Gestalt Therapy allow for greater awareness of our full selves, thus integrating the mind and body. I work extensively with those struggling with substance and behavioral addictions as well as their family members.
I truly believe that the therapeutic relationship is a collaborative process. My extensive training in Gestalt Therapy offers a unique experience in therapy, one in which we are both developing awareness about your concerns, strengths, and the process for healing. Through this experiential practice, clients report profound insight and change.
