In my work, I help teens and adults overcome anxiety, build confidence, and find balance through compassionate, evidence-based therapy. When helpful, I also offer mindfulness and hypnotherapy as additional support. I’m a Licensed Independent Social Worker and co-founder of Lifeworks in Des Moines, a well-established therapy agency serving Central Iowa. After more than 20 years at Lifeworks, I recently transitioned into private practice in West Des Moines. I strive to create a comfortable, supportive space where you feel heard and valued, because therapy can be a really good thing, and it might just surprise you how much it can help.
Finding the right therapist can feel stressful, but the connection you build is what truly makes the difference, it has to feel like the right fit. While I’m trained in cognitive behavioral therapy and other evidence-based approaches, I believe the most meaningful progress happens within a genuine, trusting relationship between a therapist and their client.
Alongside my practice, I just completed my fourth season as the on-site therapist for the Iowa Cubs, Triple-A affiliate of the Chicago Cubs. I provided weekly mental health support to players, helping them manage stress, anxiety, and other performance challenges. I value the work I do as a therapist and look forward to connecting with my clients each week.
