I work well with clients — especially men — who want practical counseling with plain conversation, honest feedback, and clear direction. Many of the people I work with are skeptical about therapy or do not naturally see themselves as “therapy people.” That is okay. You do not have to be excited about therapy. You just need to be willing to show up and have an honest conversation. I try to keep counseling practical, direct, and grounded in real life.
We will look honestly at the patterns that keep showing up. I will listen carefully, but I will not just nod along if something needs to be addressed.
I work with anxiety, stress, anger, relationship strain, grief, and old patterns that keep affecting the present. I also use EMDR when old experiences keep showing up in current reactions.
My Christian faith shapes my values, but I work comfortably with Christian and non-Christian clients.
