I believe people can change when they feel truly heard in a safe environment. I work to provide this experience via unconditional positive regard and acceptance. I assist clients in expanding emotional awareness and understanding how our emotions impact our behaviors. I am currently licensed in the North Carolina, Nevada, and Washington. I see client's virtually and in person. My office is located in the Lake Norman - Charlotte, NC area (Cornelius, NC). I specialize in treating trauma symptoms with EMDR both in person and virtually.
I specialize in treating Anxiety, PTSD, C-PTSD, and Attachment truama. Although, I may use a combination of treatment approaches individualized for each client; my main treatment approach is EMDR. EMDR allows us to access and re-process disturbing memories and experiences without being overwhelmed, thus eliminating the associated trauma symptoms.
Anxiety and trauma symptoms are not due to weakness or lack of ability to get over an event. These symptoms are due to the way our brain processes memory under stressful situations (which we have no control of). Fortunately, there is treatment to correct these processing errors and consequently relieve the related symptoms.
