Hi there, I'm Ruth! I would be honored and grateful that you've taken steps towards including me in your support system. I approach therapy sessions through a client-centered and family systems lens to help you achieve your therapy goals while also collaborating with you, family members, and other healthcare professionals. I hope that our time together will feel like chats in the living room, where you can live authentically. I utilize family systems, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) approaches in individual and family therapy sessions.
I am passionate about working with veterans, active duty military members, perinatal clients, and those affected by eating disorders. If you have a loved one in the military, a family member who has been diagnosed with an eating disorder, or are adjusting to a spouse in the perinatal period, I am here to support you, too.
My goal with communication is to help you feel validated and heard through warm, open, and non-judgmental conversations. I find that using humor to build therapeutic rapport and work through challenges can be a helpful tool to build resiliency and perspective through a wider lens.
