I am a psychotherapist working with individuals, couples and families. I have years of experience assisting those who struggle with grief, loss, depression, anxiety, relational conflict, traumatic experiences and adjustment.

I believe that in order to change anything, we first need to understand and accept it. This is done through talking. I bring an empathetic, worldly, and multidisciplinary approach to help you gain a deeper understanding of who you are and what you want. We all repeat the same patterns through our lives that sometimes prevent us from happiness.Through therapy, we can start to observe those patterns, and then decide how we want to change them.

At North Star Counseling we are conscious of clients in their totality; we take an integrative approach to healing the mind. Ultimately, we seek to heal by helping our clients to break free from destructive behaviors and enjoy a new and improved state of emotional, spiritual and physical health.

Being a parent is not easy and it's OK to reach out for help when your child's behavior is a bigger challenge than you ever expected. As a child and family counselor I enjoy helping families with children with developmental, emotional and behavioral concerns. I will work with your family to help you find effective parenting solutions, achieve better communication, and re-discover the joy of being around each other. I also provide mental health counseling and support to young adults transitioning to adulthood and aging out of the special education system.

Dr. DANIEL SCHWARZ is a Ph.D. Licensed Psychologist in private practice for over 30 years. He specializes in working with children who have learning challenges, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and other behavioral problems. He provides family therapy, parent training and couples therapy. Dr. Schwarz consults with schools and clients' physicians to help coordinate treatment. He is fluent in Spanish and is unique in his ability to be culturally sensitive to his clients needs. Dr. Schwarz provides psychological evaluations for Immigration Issues and Waivers. Dr. Schwarz has three experienced providers in his practice.
