About
My approach is very relationship based, incorporating fundamentals of clinical practice...including CBT, DBT, psychodynamic and psychosocial approaches. I am very holistic and work with the person in the situation and the system. I specialize with many different presenting problems and have worked with very diverse populations in the past including; parenting skills/coaching, life skills, coping skills, anxiety, depression, high risk behaviors, adoption issues, adjustment issues, such as relocating, divorce, loss, identity issues and learning issues to name a few.
The relationship that is developed helps to empower, heal and strengthen the individual, and or the family. Supporting a person as they explore and process sometimes painful or challenging issues and as the create a new, healthier "normal" is exciting to experience.Crucial to this experience is using ones self to illicit change, and growth.
I have built a successful and effective practice in part through returning and satisfied clients, word of mouth and professional referrals. The therapeutic relationship is so critical to success. I will not hesitate to collaborate with a client to find the best clinical fit for that person and their situation.
