Hello, my name is Roxanne Beaton. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Florida. My approach to therapy is Cognitive behavioral therapy which combines both behavioral and cognitive therapy to help patients understand how their thoughts and beliefs influence their actions and moods. My focus areas of practice are alcohol and drug abuse, abusive behaviors, anger management, mood management, stress management, family issues, grief and loss counseling, infidelity recovery, job-related stressors, life adjustment, marital problems, parenting challenges, self-esteem, and confidence building.
I have worked with both adults and children ages 10 to 91 years old, with a range of severe to mild mental health disorders. I've also worked in residential, outpatient, and hospital settings with juvenile offenders and substance abusers. I am most comfortable treating Clinical Depression, Anxiety Disorder, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, and grief and loss.
My approach to therapy is client-centered: the client's needs are focused on, helping them to form their solutions. The client is considered the expert on their life and takes an active role in the therapy process; the goal is to help the client improve their self-awareness and take control of their mental health and daily living activities.
