I view my role to be as a guide in the journey of recovering access to our inherent capacity for health and psychological wholeness. My approach to counseling is humanistic and depth-oriented; our past informs, but need not limit our present lives. I specialize in IFS (Internal Family Systems) to help clients get acquainted with parts of themselves and reconcile inner tensions. At times I may utilize art-based techniques to provide clients with other languages with which to communicate, as well as resourcing techniques from Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Solution-Focused approaches to mobilize individual and family strengths.
The transitions from child to teen to adult are challenging, and having a coach/mentor/guide on your side can make them so much less intimidating. Likewise, journeying into relationships, or out of them, can feel overwhelming. I aim to provide a safe nurturing space to find your footing again.
I work with people of all ages, sexual orientations, and cultural backgrounds. I particularly enjoy working with other men. Learning to become a healthy man, both for myself and so that I could be a better son, friend, partner, & father, has been a journey. I aim to help my clients discover that counseling can be both an exciting and rewarding adventure.
