About
You've heard the phrase “aging gracefully” and thought, How do I do that? Did you turn 40, 50 or 60 and all of a sudden it seems life took a left turn and you weren’t prepared. Perhaps you feel like you are no longer acknowledged for the things that used to bring you attention. Perhaps aging has brought up past trauma and you feel disconnected from family and friends. Maybe your partner is confused about why your behaviors and moods are changing. I will tell you that you are not alone, and while aging may feel uncomfortable and scary, it is also a time for empowerment, to speak up, to have dreams and to be connected.
My specialty is working with people experiencing depression, trauma, anxiety, stress and anger. I help adults manage trauma symptoms in order to have fulfilling lives, assist people moving through unexpected transitions, help clients navigate the challenges of aging, and help those who have experienced social injustices.
My therapeutic approach is trauma informed and utilizes Experiential Techniques, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Mindfulness Based Practices. I am also a registered yoga teacher and may use yoga interventions (seated and on the mat). My effort is not to temporarily alleviate symptoms, but to walk with you toward resilience and healing.
