Combining gentleness, strength, and evidence-based approaches with an intuitive understanding, is at the heart of my work. I use inner and outer resources to support people, and a little laughter and irony along the way. Attending to banished voices, lost dreams, inner-child work, saboteurs, and avoidance helps in getting people where they want to go. I utilize EMDR, have worked in grief support and inpatient. In addition, applying well-known factors in the neuropsychology of learning optimizes change. In practice, it all comes together using structure, flow, and clinical assessment.
I support healthy relationships through leveraging the desire to change that comes with love and fear of loss. I specialize in Couples Therapy and trained directly with Sue Johnson, creator of EFT and John and Julie Gottman, the most effective and widely-researched models. In addition, I've studied with Stan Tatkin, of PACT and Harville Hendrix of IMAGO.
I love working with people and find human nature fascinating. It's what keeps me in the game. I'm rigorous in my intellectual and clinical curiosity but it's grounded and integrated in a heart-centered approach. In addition, I utilize somatic (body) awareness, mindfulness and cognitive methods.
