I am interested in helping individuals (age 30 and above) feel more comfortable within themselves, their personal relationships and work lives : men and women who struggle to understand themselves more fully, and make meaningful/appropriate changes. Expertise includes coaching, relationship issues, aging/ impaired family members ,ways to achieve healthier lifestyles. I am skilled in assisting older adult children make decisions about their elderly parents’ care needs ( health, placement). I believe that early childhood as well as socioeconomic/cultural factors affect development.
I attempt to help clients improve communication skills, increase self-awareness, and achieve goals. I include psychotherapy , coaching, and psychoeducational techniques. I have found over the years that psych medication can prove a helpful adjunct to talk therapy at times. Brief treatment, couples therapy, and coaching are my interests at this time.
I strive to create a safe, trusting client-therapist relationship in which issues may be explored. My style includes warmth, humor, flexibility, and a direct approach with focus upon increasing self-awareness, problem solving strategizing and facilitating behavioral change. I bring years of experience to my work, yet continue to learn from my clients.
