I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, and I am committed to helping individuals build healthier relationships with themselves and others. I work closely with adults and older adults with anxiety, depression, and trauma, and I help them recognize and identify the strength within them and achieve their goals in life.
I incorporate a blend of conventional approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy and draw upon a variety of styles and techniques, including Mindfulness and solution-focused, to integrate what is most helpful for each client.
I believe that therapeutic communication is most effective when clients decide what to talk about and are allowed the opportunity and space to discuss what's on their minds. I rely on deliberate silence, affirming, active listening, and seeking clarification. and encouraging them to describe their perceptions, and also using humor and metaphors.
