I am focusing my specialty practice on case consultation, licensure supervision, and training on trauma related disorders. After 40 years in the practice of psychotherapy with individuals and couples with trauma histories, and years of study and teaching other clinicians, I hope to contribute to the community of clinicians who want to continue to learn and deepen their understanding of the complex nature of our human adaptations to overwhelming life experience. I am a Fellow and on the Faculty of The International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation since 2002.
I am an experienced trauma therapist: with a psychodynamic, relational, stage based theoretical lens grounded in an understanding of the history of the study of trauma, and the generational impact on the psyche, the family and the society. I know that we cannot do this work alone. I see patients only for their therapists when there are complex issues.
I've been in practice for 40 years and co-founded as faculty of the former Houston-Galveston Trauma Institute whose mission was to train mental health professionals. I have a certificate from the Harvard Program in Global Mental Health Refugee Trauma. I am an Expert witness and Forensic evaluator for Immigration court.
