About
Looks like you are therapist shopping, which is a big step. Chances are, this means the support systems you have and the ways of coping that you normally use are not enough right now. Perhaps you have noticed changes in how you sleep, your appetite, mood, and how you engage with your world. A variety of paths lead people to struggle and we all have times in our lives when we need a little more or a little different support. Finding a therapist who is a good fit for you can be a helpful piece in receiving that support. Root & Rise has 2 therapists on staff, Dr. Butler Hepler and Reva Kominsky, MSW. Perhaps one of us can help.
Therapy is different for every person. Some is archaeological in nature; some stays in the here and now. Some involves building skills, supporting changes (or not changes), developing insight, or sitting with an array of feelings. What we do is unique to you and defined by your goals and needs.
We often see clients who are experiencing life transitions, anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship difficulties. We work with adults and adolescents; parent/child dyads, and couples. Dr. Hepler blends mindfulness, CBT, and attachment perspectives while Ms. Kominsky has a background in creative art therapies and somatic experiencing.
