I enjoy assisting clients to develop a better understanding of themselves and their lives. Respect for my clients is first and foremost. I approach treatment from an integrative framework. Research has shown that many people are more receptive to non-traditional forms of health care than ever before. However, many of them experience difficulty finding a mental health professional who provides this type of treatment.
My approach to Integrative mental health consists of utilizing traditional psychotherapy as well as enlisting non-traditional healing practices. I specifically work with African Americans focusing on cultural identity and the stressors that affect them, while also promoting resilience .
I am an advocate for fathers and have an expertise in treating fathers who have a desire to improve the lives of their children and/or are involved in the Child Welfare system.
