I have experience working with all ages: children, adolescents, young adults, families, and couples; and with those presenting with anxiety, depression, PTSD, CPTSD, developmental disorders, and chronic mental illness, among others. I am grounded in psychodynamic therapy, with an emphasis on attachment based interventions and Family Systems. Furthermore, I integrate different therapies (when needed), taking into consideration the complexity of multicultural perspectives that shape our lives, to meet the unique needs of each individual. I have conducted neuropsychological assessments, and am currently Adjunct Faculty at ISPP.

I believe that my role as a counselor is to help others become congruent to their truth and find their own path. I focus on client strengths, and create a safe and supportive environment for insight and transformation to occur. I see myself as an empathic and intuitive listener, as well as a direct communicator. I can tell it as I see it, with tact and humor but I am also gentle and sensible. I find creative ways to challenge the barriers clients may encounter in their life journey. I believe in personal responsibility, and I see the counseling process as an active and collaborative one. I truly believe in a mind body connection.

I specialize in working with adolescent & adult males struggling with a wide range of issues; in particular: surrounding identity issues/crises, life transitions, ambivalence in relationships, failure to launch, etc. I utilize a more directed approach to our therapy, similar to coaching, yet still exploring clinical themes that are underlying struggles, problems, and stuck-ness. I also enjoy working with families and couples that desire a spiritual focus in their relational growth but find themselves stuck in communication, connection, or commitment.
