With 40+ years of experience working with individuals, couples and families, Roger is particularly skilled in helping individuals who are facing life transitions and with couples who are trying to get their relationships back on track. Roger utilizes Gottman based couples counseling methods with couples and addresses many types of concerns including grief, anxiety, depression, trauma and stress management with individuals. Roger has been described as having a calm and caring personality that puts clients at ease.
Roger uses a variety of therapy techniques (cognitive behavioral therapy, solution focused therapy, and insight-oriented interventions to name a few) to address the goals, barriers, and symptoms that a client is bringing into therapy. In sessions, Roger is empathetic and non-judgmental while remaining genuine and focused on goals in therapy.
Roger's blend of empathy and focus on solutions has enabled him to help clients make important changes while feeling good in therapy. Clients appreciate that Roger focuses on connecting with them, understanding what they are communicating, and making sure they feel safe while still targeting the goals that his clients are aiming to achieve.
