My role as a therapist is to help clients clarify their goals, identify obstacles, and formulate a workable plan of action so they can achieve better mental health. Using tools from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) we can look at how thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are linked. Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) has many teachable skills to address mood disorders including depression and anxiety. Using these and other evidenced based practices, we can piece together an individualized plan specific to your needs.
I have an extensive history of working with addictions and co-occurring disorders. Poor mental health typically leads to layers of dysfunction. As we work to alleviate one set of challenges it is not uncommon to find others. It is important to address the whole person... mentally, physically, and spiritually.
