I am a clinical therapist, and earned my Master in Social Work degree from New York University. I am trained in EMDR and IFS . I have dedicated most of my time as a therapist working with substance misuse, sexual compulsivity , relationship restoration, trauma and LGBTQ issues. I understand immigration issues and I also speak Portuguese.
I understand how shame affects many of us and its correlation to issues such as addiction and difficulties with intimacy. When working with LGBTQ clients I recognize the importance of using a sex positive and non-shaming approach. I strive to help clients to connect with authenticity and freedom from unhealthy coping behaviours.
