I listen empathically to help my patients develop self-compassion and awareness so they can develop acceptance and create change. I see my role as listener, supporter, and guide into the internal world. My job is to thoughtfully explore with you, this unknown terrain and come to know the resources, resiliency, and best self that already exists. I also believe that life is not all rainbows and unicorns. There are many up and downs. The question is how we get through them. We must explore all aspects of life to fully engage and fulfill our greatest potentials.
I am trained to work with people experiencing all kinds of emotional and mental challenges with special training in parenting, postpartum mood and anxiety disorders as well as grief and loss. My NICU experience lends to working with people who have experienced fertility difficulties, challenging pregnancies, and medically-complicated beginnings.
I have worked in school, hospital, and outpatient clinic settings, with varied experiences across the life span and diagnostic spectrum. My belief is that much of the therapeutic work relies on the therapeutic relationship/match in addition to skills and therapeutic models. I'm looking forward to meeting you.
