It is my belief that counseling is one of the most overlooked and under-utilized tools for finding healing from life and gaining a clearer picture of our true selves. Having personally experienced loss and tragedy to get here, I have been blessed first-hand through how trained professionals can help each of us find our ways past such obstacles and into emotional clarity and improved mental health. Additionally, I have worked for years as a pediatric speech therapist, specializing in helping children with disabilities and different abilities to master the skills necessary to succeed. I have served for many years as a Christian-
based missionary to Kenya, and I continue to volunteer with faith-based agencies both locally and abroad to serve and love on those in need. I have learned to see people through the Lord’s eyes and meet them where and how they are. As a Christian Faith based counselor, I want to help people find the tools and truths necessary to achieve peace.
I have worked with clients on the Autism Spectrum, as well as those struggling with Codependence, Grief, Anxiety, Woman’s issues, Relationship Issues, Adult Children of Alcoholics/Dysfunctional Families, Sexual Trauma, and/or Christian Faith/Spirituality. Breakthrough is pleased to offer an Anger Management group typically led by an experienced, licensed counselor who is also training an Intern near completion of their Master's degree. Group counseling gives members an opportunity to increase understanding, learn more about the ways they interact, and provides a safe space to try new ways of communicating with others. Members benefit from group therapy by sharing with others and realizing that they are not alone in their struggles. In the group environment, others can serve as mirrors that reflect the characteristics that one may wish to change or eliminate.
