I empathize with the strength and courage needed to reach out and ask for help; this initial step can be the most difficult in the treatment process. Keeping this in mind, I strive to ensure the initial session is a comfortable and empowering experience. My primary focus will be getting to know the individual, couple or family and identifying treatment goals. I will assist the client in working towards realistic goals within a therapeutic framework based on personal needs. I believe building a therapeutic rapport is a critical component of the process as it works towards creating a healing enviroment.
My initial years in practice focused on Women's Issues, Domestic Violence, Trauma, and Anger Management within individual, family and group modalities. Over time, my treatment practices have expanded to include various mood disorders including Anxiety, Depression, Bipolar Disorder, ADHD, Behavioral Disorders, Social Issues and Family Conflict.
My experience has lead me to work with both individuals and couples as well as group facilitation. Treatment issues often encompass communication skills, coping skills, psychosocial stressors associated with finances, unemployment, relationship/family conflict, blended families, divorce, grief and loss.
