My clients are often couples suffering from betrayal, trauma, and/or infidelity. One or both partners may have cheated. These couples may not know if they want to stay together, but they are willing to commit to the process of Infidelity Recovery Therapy. Goals include identifying if the affair is a “wake up or break up", processing the infidelity, increasing communication, dissolving resentment, rebuilding the new relationship, devising the New Monogamy Agreement, and more.
I work with the clients to devise the New Monogamy Agreement. We often enter into committed relationships with many implied expectations. The New Monogamy Agreement will be explicit about expectations. Through psychoeducation, rebuilding trust, establishing boundaries, and more, we work together toward healing.
