I practice client-centered therapy and believe my clients are the expert in their therapeutic journey. I strive to meet my clients where they are and help them gain the skills and knowledge they need to get to where they want to be. I am experienced working with Adults, adolescents, and families. My style is nontraditional, and I am often told I do not fit the picture my clients have of a Therapist. I gained my knowledge working in Community Mental Health and have worked with clients with ADHD, Anxiety, Depression, PTSD, BPD, Bipolar Disorder, and co-occurring substance use disorders.
I am licensed in Iowa and Illinois. I received my MSW at the University of Iowa. I am clinically trained in DBT, CBT, ACT and Motivational Interviewing. I am certified in Iowa PCIT and CPT.
I believe in developing a strong therapeutic rapport with my clients to ensure they are comfortable and feel safe throughout the therapeutic process. My life experience has taught me that trust is the cornerstone to helping others. I am accepting, non-judgmental, and eclectic which allows me to work with people from all walks of life.
