Taking the initial step to go to therapy isn’t an easy one. You may be feeling hurt, unsafe, scared, exhausted, lonely, or even desperate. The list is endless. You finally gathered the courage to seek for help and really hope to find a welcoming therapist that will make you feel safe and accepted as you are. I make sure to create that kind of welcoming and non-judgmental environment for you, because if you feel truly safe then you can find the strength to look at and even face the difficult and traumatic events in your life.
As a therapist and certified BodyTalk practitioner, I look to the whole person and work from the understanding of the connection between the mind and the body. As such, I combine talk therapy and somatic approaches. Some of the modalities I use are Gestalt, IFS, EMDR, BodyTalk and EFT tapping. To find out more about my therapies click on "my website" below.
Trauma and its associated emotions get stored in various parts of the body. Anytime one of your five senses receives an input that activates a traumatic memory, your body reacts as if it is going through the trauma all over again.
