My therapeutic approach is warm, respectful, active, engaged, compassionate and focused. My clinical framework is guided by convictions that individuals possess intrinsic drives toward health, happiness and love. When this inner wisdom becomes obscured by life's struggles, or when a child's development sways off course, I provide a space to reflect, regain perspective, and help individuals make adaptive choices and coping strategies that lend to greater fulfillment in play, school, work and relationships.
I bring more than 30 years of experience helping individuals who struggle with challenges associated with anxiety, depression, relationship conflict, shame, low self esteem and trauma. My assessment skills are bolstered by serving as an expert witness, conducting forensic evaluations and testifying in court for traumatized children and adults.
Based upon individual needs and goals, I utilize psychodynamic and/or cognitive behavioral strategies. I use verbal and non-verbal methods with children to help communicate upsets, relieve stress and adopt adaptive coping strategies. My approach is shaped by an abiding respect for the interconnectedness of body-mind-spirit.
