Hello, congrats on taking the time to invest in yourself. My name is Robert and for the past 20 years I have been helping individuals and their family members create stronger relationships and more fulfilling lives. I work with Addiction, Alcoholism, Trauma, PTSD, Anxiety, Depression, and Relationships. My work is holistic, evidenced based and solutions focused. I am a highschool dropout who struggled early in life and managed to earn a master's degree and establish a private practice. So, I have clinical expertise and my lived experience gives me unique perspective and understanding in helping others
I have a strong background in nueroscience and use a variety of approaches. I like to use CBT, narrative therapy, education, existentialism, Jungian themes, mindfulness, and when appropriate spirituality. I consider myself a seeker, a student of world religions, as connection to something greater than ourselves has always been a part of the human condition
I strive to create a warm safe place for clients, as vulnerability allows us to heal. The Sufi poet Rumi stated " The wound is the place the light may enter." Change can be difficult because there is safety and comfort in what is familiar, even when what is familiar is unhealthy. Trying out new behaviors and shifting perspectives are common goals set.
