Hello, congrats on taking the time to invest in yourself. Recovering from substance use and/or mental health challenges can be a confusing, scary, and frustrating time as well as a time of growth, self discovery, increased connections, and heightened purpose. My name is Robert and for the past 20 years I have been helping individuals and their family members struggling with Addiction, Alcoholism, Trauma, PTSD, Anxiety and Depression, TBI, and other common diagnoses. My work is holistic, evidenced based and solutions focused.
I draw on a variety of treatment approaches, but I always focus on being person centered. Creating a space for others to feel seen, heard, and validated is always first. Other strategies I use often are CBT, narrative therapy, education, existentialism, Jungian themes, mindfulness, music, art, and literature.
I do my best to create a warm safe place for all clients, as it is through vulnerability that we are able to heal. The Sufi poet Rumi stated " The wound is the place the light may enter." The typical goals I set with clients are about increasing self understanding and exploring the ways we relate to the stories we tell ourselves.
