Hello All. My name is Bob Schetter and if you are seeking help in your personal life with issues of disability, past incarceration, trauma, or early relationship issues you've come to the right place. My professional life has been dictated by careers with the Developmentally Disabled, and forensic interventions at state prisons. Personally, I have overcome issues of disability due to a birth defect and have used the creative arts to help reduce anxiety and present myself to the world. Artistic Therapy is a degree I created at the University of Michigan and I support engagement in the Arts as a path to self fulfillment.
These days, I continue my own professional growth with a certification in Trauma. As a result my interpersonal practice focuses much more on Somatic and non-verbal approaches to therapy and healing "a la" Dr. Dan Siegel and Dr. Van der Kolk. Additionally, specialties in Forensics and Disability were crafted through my work experience.
Due to my experience with Forensic populations, I have a deep understanding of the trauma initiating "bad" behavior in the eye of society, and how trauma continues in prison. Seeing beyond behavior, also relates to our treatment of Developmentally Disabled individuals as we restrict their engagement in the world. Let's move forward together!
